Locomote 90
Åkerströms has more than 50 years ofexperience in developing radio controlfor industry and its specific needs. Åkerströms’locomotive remote control systemwas developed to provide the safety andreliability that operators need for wirelesscontrol within freight transport operationsor heavy industrial environments, such as steel works and mines.
Switching-yard personnel can operatedriverless locomotives with Locomote90, Åkerströms’ product for remotecontrol for locomotives. They caneasily control the locomotive with ajoystick on the Locomote transmitter, which is positioned on the front of theirbodies in a comfortable carrier. UsingLocomote, they start, run, and stop thelocomotive and thus have total controlof the train’s movements.
Flexible solution
The receiver, is inside the locomotiveand communicates with the locomotive’scontrol system. And it’s futureproof futureproof:this flexible solution enables usto adapt it for new or reengineeredcontrols systems.
Safer and more efficient
Thanks to locomotive remote control, switching is safer and more efficientcompared to manual switching thatdemands two persons. Locomote minimizesrisk for musculoskeletal injuries (drivers need not climb up and downfrom the cabin), risk for accidents (suchas being pinned), and risk for slipping(on wet or greasy surfaces).
Standard or tailored
The Locomote 90 system comes with atransmitter, receiver, and charger. Thereare two transmitter models to choosefrom and several receiver options, available in a standard model, or it canbe tailored to enable customer-specific functions.
